Bonjour!
Nous nous appelons Bronte Ellison et Steph Hammond. Nous sommes les professeurs de francais cette annee a L'ecole de Paringa Park.
We are Bronte Ellison and Steph Hammond and we will be teaching the French program together at Paringa Park Primary School this year.
Madame Hammond will be taking the Reception and Year 1/2 classes, and Madame Ellison will will teach the Year 2-Year 6 classes.
This year we will be using a range of resources and teaching tools to engage and challenge our students in their French learning, and you can use this online platform to get a bit of a picture of the things going on in your childrens French language learning program.
Our French language learning will be through:
JP: songs, games, short video clips, stories and simple written tasks
MP: games, written tasks, research tasks, reading (boukili.com) & writing simple texts, kahoot online games, plickers quizes, using individual laptop devices in some lessons
UP: written tasks, research tasks, reading (boukili.com) & writing simple texts, kahoot online games, plickers quizes, using individual laptop devices in most lessons
Key Word lists: Each term we will update a list of topic key words for each year level on this website should you like to bring some French learning into your home. We may also add student work samples, or outlines of learning tasks as we get through the term.
Duolingo: If you would like to give your children (or yourself) access to further French language learning opportunities at home, Duolingo is a free app which can be accessed on a phone, ipad or computer and will give you the opportunity to practice vocabulary exercises.
These are some of the first suggestions I will give if parents ask for ways to futher their childrens French skills and confidence, or if they have been away and missing a few lessons and want to catch up.
We look forward to teaching your children this year and sharing our passion for France and the French language in 2023.
A bientot,
Madame Ellison & Madame Hammond

Bonjour à tous,
Je m’appelle Mathieu. I will be working alongside Madame Ellison this year teaching French. I grew up in Montréal Canada where I did all of my education in French. After a bit of travelling to learn English, I set foot here in Adelaide.
It was great to meet some of the families on acquaintance night to discuss some of the learning that will happen in the French room. Many parents asked about accessing some French resources from home in order to support their children and, for some, to learn a bit of the language themselves. Here are some resources that I encourage you to use whenever you find a bit of time in the busy life of parenting.
Duolingo:
Free application that can also be accessed on a web browser. This will provide you with practice and vocabulary building exercises. It will even remind you when you haven’t been practising for a while! :)
Quizlet:
The link below will take you to an online quiz that I created. This is great to revise some of the topic related words that we use in the French room. You can decide how you want to study the content. I personally like the matching activity. Notice how your time improves as you and your child become more familiar with the vocabulary.

Bonjour, je m’appelle Gemma Dupont and I team teach with Bronte Ellison.
Being half French, during my childhood, I often spent summer holidays in Paris staying with my extended family, practising my French and learning about French culture, which developed my love for the country and language.
Throughout my adult years I have continued to foster this passion through my studies and professional life.
After studying French in high school, I lived in France before returning to Australia to study Steiner education. In 1998, during my first year of teaching, I concurrently undertook a degree in French language and culture before doing a further degree in main stream teaching.
After university, my husband and I lived in Germany for three years, where I taught English and learnt German, becoming trilingual.
In 2005, I returned to Adelaide and worked in a primary school teaching refugee children, whilst still visiting France every year to see my family.
Eight years later my love of France and the French language found me back in Paris for another six years, where I taught in a French/English bilingual school.
In 2019, I returned to Adelaide to teach French. I am thrilled to be able to share my passion for French and France with the children here at Paringa Park Primary.

Bonjour. Je m'appelle Madame Ellison, je suis le professeur de française a Paringa Park Primary School.
Hi. I am Bronte Ellison, and I am one of the French teachers at Paringa Park Primary School, with Gemma Dupont. I returned from Maternity Leave in Term 3 this year, after taking a year off with my son Hamish last year, and I am currently teaching two days per week.
I am loving being back in the Paringa Park community, getting to know the new families and all of the changes that have taken place in my absence.
This year French is based in LA1-11, next to the Front Office, and am really enjoying sharing my passion for the French Teaching role with Gemma Dupont this year.

Bonjour. Je m'appelle Madame Ellison, je suis le professeur de française a Paringa Park Primary School.
Hi. I am Bronte Ellison, and I am the French teacher at Paringa Park Primary School.
You might have seen me around the school pushing my trolley as I go from class to class.
I began my French language journey in Year 8 at Brighton Secondary School, where my teachers taught me the basics and encouraged a love for France and all things French.
When I was 16 I went to live in Lyon, France through a Rotary Exchange, thanks to the Glenelg and Lyon-Sud Rotary Clubs. Whilst I was there I went to school, lived with 4 different host families and was given opportunities to travel and experience things I will never forget. It was one of the best years and it only encouraged my love for France.
I majored in French language and culture during my Bachelor of Education at Flinders University, and completed placements teaching French at both Paringa Park Primary School and at the Alliance Francaise d'Adelaide in 2015.
Since then I have worked throughout the school, relief teaching, working with Andrea Moss teaching Year 4's in 2016, and taught Year 1/2 in 2017.
I am excited to bring my own flair to the French program, and look forward to continue working with the children, staff and community at Paringa Park Primary School this year.
