The colours of Impressionism Excursion
In Week 2 of Term 2 the Year 1 and Year 2 classes visited the Art Gallery to see the many masterpieces on display in the Colours of Impressionism Exhibition. To link this excursion with our learning, we studied the Artist (Orlando) 'Claude' Monet, some of his more famous works, and the story of how Impressionism was born as an art form. The children used acrylic paints or watercolors and oil pastels to re-create their own Impressionist masterpiece, which will be on display on Friday, week 6, in the Paringa Park Primary School JP Art Exhibition.
